Ladonna Chiree Hanvey Whitaker

Eastaboga - Funeral services for Ms. Ladonna Chiree Hanvey Whitaker 42 of Eastaboga will be Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Dee Harrison officiating with burial following at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.

Ms. Whitaker passed away March 20, 2013 at her home in Eastaboga.

Ms. Whitaker is survived by her daughter, Shelby Whitaker; father, Joel Hanvey; step-mother, Judy Bennett; sister, Michelle (Michael) Newton; brothers, Marvin Hanvey and Stacey (Lisa) Bennett; grandparents, Edward and Barbara Lackey; nieces and nephews, Leslie Cupo, Joey Wilson, and Clarence Smith.

Pallbearers will be Tim Lackey, Patrick Lackey, Joey Wilson, Clarence Smith, Michael Newton, Johnny Hanvey, Keith Free, and Nick Arnold.

Ms. Whitaker was preceded in death by her son, Michael Shawn; mother, Susan Diane Hanvey; father, Garlon Bennett; grandmother, Jura Mae Hanvey.

Ms. Whitaker was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County where she attended Wellborn High School. Ms. Whitaker was employed with the Georgia Department of Corrections for 10 years and worked at Piedmont Nursing Home for 6 years. She loved being at the beach and spending time with her family.
