

Anniston - Funeral services for Mr. Luther Hogan Dickert, 88, of Anniston, will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Anthony officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Dickert passed away on November 23, 2017, at Stringfellow Hospital of Anniston.
Mr. Dickert was born on May 6, 1929, in Eastaboga, AL. He was the last of 4 children born to Luther and Myrtle Dickert. Mr. Dickert was the Assistant City Engineer for the City of Anniston for 40 years, during which time he served under different administrations and forms of city government. He loved working in the yard, traveling with his wife, driving his 1970 Mercedes SL Convertible, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the Encouragers Sunday School Class.
Mr. Dickert was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Roberts Dickert. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Mary Reese Dickert, of Anniston; his son Michael Dickert (Angela) of Oxford; his daughters, Marianne Pegues of Columbus, GA; Sharon Supplee (Dave) of Bessemer; Pam Bishop (Richard) of Rainbow City; Donna Nunnally (Ben) of Rainbow City; and Lana Murphy (Vic) of Hoover; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roger Webb, Chip Howell, Charles Rice, Richard Bishop, Vic Murphy, Eric Cannington, Kyle Mosakowski, and John DiCesaris.
