Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Mary was born July 2, 1920 in Brent, Alabama. She married John D. Lacy, Air Force pilot (one of Chink Lott's boy's). From the early 1940s through the mid early 1950s, she moved around the U.S. a great deal stemming from military transfer orders. Because of their beloved son's (Harry) increasingly severe and undefined illness, her husband ended his military career and the couple settled in Anniston. Only after extensive consultation with private physicians (Mayo Clinic) did Mary and John learn that little Harry suffered with this, then, terminal illness cystic fibrosis. In 1956, her second child, Lawrence R Lacy was born, 2 years before her first child, Harry, died.
Mary worked at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital where she was loved by staff and patients. She retired from hospital work in 1985. She had a deep appreciation for flowers, was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Golden Springs from the time of its inception and, after her husband died in 1997, she moved back to Bibb County with her son Roger, where she rejoined the church of her childhood, Brent Baptist Church.
Arrangements under the direction of Gray Brown-Service Mortuary & Crematory, Anniston, Alabama.
