

Anniston – Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Mickles Pettus, age 74, will be 2 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012, at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Rev. Daniel Harper and Tommy Munroe officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12 noon till 1:45 p.m..
Mrs. Pettus passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 at NHC.
Mrs. Pettus is survived by her husband, Jerry Pettus; sister, Terry Hay and Several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gary Sparks, Jarod Smith, Blake Pettus, Kyle Hurst, Tim Hurst, and Matt Wood.
Mrs. Pettus was a native of Calhoun Co. but had live in Bartow, Fl. for 32 years, she was a retired math teacher from Polk Co. School System after 30 years of service also teaching at Wellborn High School for 1 year. She has a B.S. Degree from Jacksonville State University and a Masters Math degree from Purdue University; she was a member of Saks Baptist Church. Mrs. Pettus moved back to Anniston after retirement and has lived here for the past 13 years.
Mrs. Pettus was preceded in death by her parents Wyatte Mickles and Era Mary Geier; niece, Anita Sparks
