

Anniston – Funeral services for Mrs. Ora Wade Martin, 93, of Anniston will be Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Postell officiating with a private entombment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Martin passed on August 15, 2015 at Jacksonville Health and Rehab in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Martin is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Lee Martin; brothers, Floyd and Lee Roy Wade; sister, Oma W. Butterworth; parents, James and Sallie Clay; and stepmother, Zetha Junior Wade.
Pallbearers will be Lynn, Stan, Larry Martin, Mike Burford, Doug Crow, Dennis Cook, and John Reynolds.
Mrs. Martin was born in Fruithurst, Al in 1922 and was reared in Heflin, Al. She later resided in Calhoun County, and worked at Linen Thread Cotton Mill in Blue Mountain. Mrs. Martin was an active member of 1st Baptist Church of Saks, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir until her health began to decline. She was also an avid lover of Sacred Harp Music.
The family wants to extend a special thanks to the staff at Legacy Village (assisted living in Jacksonville), the Jacksonville Health and Rehab for the love and care given to Ora.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to 1st Baptist Church of Saks.
