Survivors include her daughter, Brandi Cosby (Chris) of Tallapoosa, GA, two bonus sons, Larry Arrington of Millbrook, AL and Daryl Arrington of Crossville, AL, step-brothers, Bobby Kilmartin (Annette) and Jim Kilmartin (Evelyn), three bonus grandchildren, Brian Arrington, Christian Arrington and Carmen Arrington and her furbaby “Little Man”, Tanner.
Ms. Arrington is preceded in death by father, Paul R. Chaffin, mother, Frances Evelyn Chaffin Kilmartin, step-father, Robert J. Kilmartin, sister, Paula D. Chaffin, brother, LCPL Allan Ray Chaffin and furbaby “Baby Dog”, Trellbi.
She was retired as a 30+ years Federal Civil Service employee. Her career included employment at Talladega Federal Prison System, Ft. McClellan, and then finally the Anniston Army Depot.
She was a kind, warm, loving, and gracious person to everyone she encountered. She had such a sweet spirit and positive outlook on life. She was full of love and light, but the darkest time in her and her mother, Evelyn’s, life was the heroic death of her beloved brother, Allan Ray, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967. This loss greatly affected her, but did not define her as a person. She had a smile that would brighten the darkest of rooms, and an infectious laugh that could make you forget all your troubles. She had a heart of gold and tried to find the best in everyone. She was full of love and light, but the biggest light of her life was her daughter, Brandi. She was her pride and joy and was so proud and supportive of her and all her accomplishments. Her sweet spirit was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. While she was an angel here on Earth, she has now gained her wings and truly earned her perfect title.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pam’s honor to the Allan Ray Chaffin Detachment Marine Corp League #1329, PO Box 843, Anniston, AL 36202 or bring a new unwrapped toy for Toys For Tots to Gray Brown-Service.
Arrangements under the direction of Gray Brown-Service Mortuary & Crematory, Anniston, Alabama.
