
Funeral service for Paul W. Green, 88, of Jacksonville, will be 2 pm Thursday, September 4, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Williams with Rev. Chris Thomas, Rev. Jimmy Barry and Rev. Adam Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 pm at the Church. Mr. Green passed away on Sunday at Jacksonville Health & Rehab.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Martha Gwendolyn Green, of Jacksonville, two daughters, Pam Barry of Dallas, GA and Paula Ingram of Piedmont, four grandchildren, Christie Thornton, Laci Post, Jennifer Troyer and Kaylee Ward, seven great-grandchildren, Quinton Thornton, Travis Thornton, Avery Post, Eli Post, Rex Troyer, William Paul Troyer and Lily Kate Ward, two sisters, Joyce Welch of Jacksonville and Margarite Welch of Rainbow City.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Ponder, Mark Almaroad, Mark Green, Gerald Livingston, Chuck Welch and Kevin Green.. Honorary Pallbearers will be Quinton Thornton, Travis Thornton, Kevin Troyer, Jason Post, Kevin Ward, Denis Green, Tyron Green, Sean Ponder, E.L. Green and Wendell McGinnis.
Mr. Green was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Williams. Mr. Green was a U.S. Navy veteran.
