

Jacksonville – Memorial service for Mr. Paul D. Young, Sr., 79, will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Young went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 25, 2017.
Mr. Young leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 62 years, Doris Kinzalow Young; daughter, Julie Young Brasher; son, Paul (Heather) Young Jr.; granddaughter, Sherie Crook (Robert) Schaffer; grandsons, James “Drew” (Laura) Young, Joshua Adam (Mycki) Young; great-grandchildren, Morgan Schaffer, Kenzie Schaffer, Makayla Young, Whitley Young, Cylas Young, and Sydney Young.
Mr. Young is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Young; mother, Faye Little Gaines; brother, Terry Young, granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Brasher.
Mr. Young served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1954 to 1962; he worked at Sunny King Ford for 18 years before going to work for Mac Tool Distributor for 25 years until he retired. He was an avid fan of antique cars, drag racing, and Alabama football. He was a member of Jacksonville First United Methodist Church. Mr. Young was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him.
