Peggy Louise Smith

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Louise Smith, age 82, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Friday, January 17th, 2025, 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Gray Brown Service with Rickey Finch officiating. The family would like to welcome everyone at 10:30 a.m. for visitation. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Jacksonville, AL. Mrs. Smith passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Holman and her husband Robert, Donna Newman and her husband Ronnie, Jackie Darrell Smith Jr. and his wife Jene; sister, Wanda Fay Barnes and her husband William "Junior"; grandchildren, Scott Finch and his wife Jennifer, Beth Finch; great grandchildren, Kira Finch, Kinsley Finch, Haley Hurt, Kevin Hurt, including numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Darrell Smith; parents, Christopher and Mrytle Moncrief; brother, Richard Moncrief; sister, Barbara Torres.

Those serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

Peggy was known for having a green thumb. She loved growing flowers or just growing things in general. She enjoyed playing horseshoes with her family. Peggy also played softball most of her life into her adult years on a lady's team. She also loved on and adored old people and enjoyed being their neighbor, for she helped them out every chance she got. Her poodles were her pride and joy. She will be missed dearly and is loved by all who knew her.
