Raymond "David" Cardwell

Raymond "David" Cardwell was born on May 18, 1948 and passed away on May 23, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. Services will be held at Gray Brown Service Mortuary in the Chapel Friday, May 28, 2021 Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM the Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 AM with Bro. John Roberson officiating and burial following at Forestlawn Gardens.

Mr. Cardwell is preceded in death by his parents William Raymond Cardwell and Goldie Mae Cardwell; his daughter Amanda Faye Cardwell; and his brother Mickey Cardwell.

Left to cherish his memory is his son Christopher David Cardwell (Joyce); his daughter Stacey Wynette Smith (whom he lived with); grandchildren Dakota Smith, Madisen Smith, Kaitlin Hammonds and Jake Cunningham; siblings Carolyn Timmons (Thomas), Joyce Cardwell (Allen), and Sharon Mosley (Howard); sister in law Ann Cardwell; several nieces and nephews and his furry companion Sarge (Ol' Buddy).

Pallbearers are Barry Lackey, Jake Cunningham, Dustin Neighbors, Thomas Timmons, Johnny Timmons and Jeff Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dakota Smith and Ray Pugh.

Mr. Cardwell attended United Freewill Baptist Church regularly where he played the bass guitar and sang. He enjoyed wood work, working in the yard, fishing and spending time with his family. He was employed by the City of Anniston Parks & Recreation for 25 years where he later retired. He was loved greatly and will be greatly missed.
