

ANNISTON – Funeral services for Rita McDonald Bowman, age 43, of Anniston, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2010, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Maddox officiating. Interment will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
Rita passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at her residence.
Survivors include her soul mate and one true love, John Medley; mother, Ruby McDonald Baxter; sister, Deborah (Myron) Fleming, Pam (Bill) Stewart; brother, Kenneth McDonald; son, Kyle Bowman; nieces and nephews, Kayla McDonald, Brandon McDonald, Michael Siskey; great niece, Zoey McDonald Humphries; aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends; sister-in-law, Sonja McDonald.
Pallbearers will be Billy Fleming, Lamar Chapman, Andy Hansford, Steve Gilbert, Larry Hollis and Sonny Clay. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Orion Technology Inc.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to The American Cancer Society, new Beacon Hospice or League of Animal Welfare. Thanks to Dr. Ronald Alvarez at UAB, Dr. Qaiser Niaz, Dr. Barry Billings, New Beacon Hospice and special thanks to nurse, Rheta Cobb.
Rita was a native of Alabama and lifetime resident of Calhoun County. She was a 1984 Saks High School graduate, received a Business Diploma from Gadsden State Community college. She was a current employee of Orion Technology Inc. She received numerous awards and certificates for her performance and work ethics. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Preceding her in death was her brother, Larry McDonald, father, Ted McDonald, grandparents, George and Effie McDonald, grandfather, Cecile Bittle, grandmother, Frances Bittle, uncle, Jerry Bittle and step-father, Ralph Baxter. She had eight pets, Casper, Prissy, Dixie, Daisy, Little Joe, Beethoven, Snickers and Snoopy.
