Funeral Service will be at Edgewood Congregational Methodist Church, 2700 Brighton Ave, Anniston, AL 36207, on Saturday March 9, 2024 at 12 pm. Visitation will be from 10 am until 12 pm. Dr. Bill Snow, Pastor, Edgewood Church and Rev. Lee Bridges, Son will officiate. Burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Bridges is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Alene Bridges; mother-in-law, Sandra Underwood.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy, of 45 years; son, Lee Bridges (Michelle); daughter, Bethany Brooks (Alex); grandchildren, Clay Bridges, Cooper Bridges, Sandi Joy Brooks and Koltan Shuler; brothers, Jimmy Bridges (Nona) and Larry Bridges (Karen); brother-in-laws, Tracy Underwood (Cindy), Jon Underwood (Candace); several nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Cliff Underwood.
Pallbearers will be Clay Bridges, Cooper Bridges, Charlie Kirkland, Bruce Tankersley, Darryl Fleming, Bob Jaskowski, Jeff Goodwin and Lenn Costner. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons of Edgewood Church and Koltan Shuler.
Ron graduated in 1970 Saks High school, 1976 Jacksonville State University School of Nursing, RN at RMC for over 25 years, RN at the Surgery Center, Army Reserve - Major for 24 years, and served during Desert Storm.
Ron was a devoted, loving husband, Dad and Pops. Loved his family with all his heart. He always wanted to be there for all of them. He volunteered at Jacksonville Christian Academy for over 15 years. He loved being a servant to the school and students. Everybody loved "Mr. Ron".
Ron served the Lord most of his life. He made sure his family knew the Lord. He was a member of Edgewood Church where he served as a deacon for over 20 years.
