Samuel Lynwood Stewart Sr.

The family of Samuel L. Stewart, Sr., 90, will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 in the parlor of Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Anniston. The funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 2 p.m. with Dr. Billy L. Harris and Dr. Travis Stewart Boline officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. On April 18, 2014, surrounded by family, Mr. Stewart passed away reuniting with his school sweetheart, wife of sixty-two years, and best friend, Nita W. Stewart, and other family members in Heaven. He was also preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. James D. Stewart; a daughter, Pamela Ann Stewart; and his four brothers: James D. Stewart, Jr., Vaughn M. Stewart, Joseph G. Stewart, Robert Mickey Stewart.

He is survived by a son, Samuel L. Stewart, Jr. (Lisa); a son, Vaughn M. Stewart II (Alicia); grandsons, Kirkland W. Stewart; Samuel L. Stewart III (Tiffany); Joseph J. Stewart (Susanne); Vaughn M. Stewart III; great-granddaughters, Leela C. Williams;, Mackenzie R. Stewart; Maylee B. Stewart; Shelby L. Stewart; great-grandsons, Carter S. Stewart; Jackson B. Stewart; and a number of in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robert Downing, Eli Henderson, Jake Matthews, Tom Mullins, Pat O’Brien, Robert Stewart, William Stewart, and Bill Thrash. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dr. B. Locke Davis Christian Life Center Fund c/o Parker Memorial Baptist Church, 1205 Quintard Ave., Anniston, AL 36201 or to the Alabama Room of the Anniston Public Library, P.O. Box 308, Anniston AL. 36202.
