Shelbie Jean Sheppard

Funeral services for Mrs. Shelbie Jean Sheppard, 75, of Anniston will be Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with burial at Maple Grove Cemetery on Monday at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends this evening at 5:30 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Sheppard passed away November 29, 2013 at her home in Anniston. Mrs. Sheppard is survived by her daughters, Rene (Jimmy) Greene, and Pam (Mike) Nunn; Bill Greene; brother, Junior (Dorothy) Cates; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Greene, Phillip (Angela) Greene, Benjamin (Lauren) Greene, Chad (Ashley) Nunn, and Kyle (Haley) Nunn; eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Doris Cates. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Sacred Harp Singers. Mrs. Sheppard was a native of Muscadine, Al and a resident of Anniston for the past thirteen years. Mrs. Sheppard resided in Gadsden for twenty-five years; and was a member of Muscadine Methodist Church. Mrs. Sheppard was very proud of the fact she was married for fifty-seven years. Mrs. Sheppard was very active in The Sacred Harp Singing Community and an avid supporter. Flowers will be gratefully accepted but donations made to S.H.M.H.A. in her honor are encouraged.
