

Rebecca “Susie” Sue Nance, 56, of Anniston, Alabama passed away peacefully on the morning of May 24, 2024 surrounded by devoted family and adored pets. She was born in Anniston, Alabama on February 28th, 1968 to Jane Seegar Nance and Thomas Edward “Sonny” Nance.
Susie was predeceased by her parents, her maternal grandparents Pearce and Lera Seegar; paternal grandparents Lawrence and Annie Nance, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is survived by her sisters Beverly Nance and Andrea Nance Baker (Rob), her nephew Nicholas Adam Nance (Braxton Austin), Aunt, Gertrude Adcock, many cousins and friends, special family friends Jean Champion, Meredith McNeil, and her fur babies Gigi, Butters, Margaret and Itty-Bitty.
Services for Susie will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 8 at Eulaton United Methodist Church with pastors Carole Lambert and Bryan Williams officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 PM until time of service. Immediately following the church service a Celebration of Life will be held at American Legion Post 155, 1780 Beck Road, Eastaboga Alabama until 6:00 PM.
Susie attended Walter Wellborn High School, graduating in 1986 at which time she began her lifelong career as a cherished member of the Walter Wellborn High School lunchroom staff from 1987 until her retirement in 2020. She was a member of Eulaton First Baptist Church, where she was a greeter and Wednesday night tea server. She was attending Eulaton United Methodist Church at the time of her passing.
Susie never met a stranger. She was quick-witted and free with compliments. She was a natural born entertainer who kept her family and friends in stitches with her imitations, her one-woman shows and her special skills with costume design. She was known for her confidence and was never afraid to flirt with any man she found handsome. She loved to dance, and was known to cut the rug at every opportunity. Susie was a bright spirit who made everyone in her orbit feel as loved and special as she.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, Nurse Lisa Hope and Aide Hannah Meeks for their loving care and attention to Susie in her final months. A special thanks would also like to be extended to the congregants of Eulaton United Methodist for the love and support shown to the family during Susie’s journey.
