Sylvia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Huey Holland (September 2018); her daughter, Kathy C. Wallace (Robert) (January 2018); her son, John G. Crosson (Donna) (April 2025); and her parents, Garnett and Arvie Norton, and brother, William Norton.
She is survived by her two cherished grandchildren, Dustin Wallace (Brandi) of Daviston, AL, and Kristin Wallace of Atlanta, GA; a granddaughter, Jordan Crosson of Brawley, CA; one great-granddaughter, Avery; and two great-grandsons, Braxton and Brody, all of Daviston, AL.
Born in Oxford, AL, on September 5, 1937, Sylvia graduated from Oxford High School in 1944. She was a dedicated and active member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford, where she cherished her Sunday School class and the fellowship of friends and colleagues. Sylvia also enjoyed a distinguished administrative career at the Anniston Army Depot. She had a love for flowers and was named an honorary member of the Azalea Club. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured the time spent with them, particularly hosting a beloved annual Christmas gathering with Huey. An avid supporter of the University of Alabama, she also keenly followed Oxford High School sports.
Arrangements will be held Sunday, August 31st, at 1:30 pm at Gray Brown Service Mortuary. Dr Stan Albright will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, prior to the service. Following the service, entombment will take place at Forest Lawn Gardens Mausoleum located at 730 Golden Springs Road, Anniston.
