

Anniston - Funeral service for Rev. Thomas Curvin, 82, of Anniston, will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012, at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with the Rev. Mike Owens and the Rev. Kenneth Welch officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11-2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Rev. Curvin went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Jacksonville Health and Rehab after a long illness.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Alice Curvin; daughters, Dianne Griffith and husband, Wayne, Barbara Harden and husband Denton, all of Anniston; grandchildren, Todd Griffith and wife, Dana and their children, Alex and Chael, of Ft. Myers, Fla., Stephanie Griffin and husband, Greg and their children, Natalie, Matthew and Daniel, of Noblesville, Ind., and Alicia Forrest and husband, Jeremy and their son, Grayson, of Jacksonville. Rev. Curvin is preceded in death by his parents, Orbie and Geneva Curvin; brother, Ralph Curvin and sister, Polly Foote Aull.
Pallbearers will be Denton Harden, Wayne Griffith, Jeremy Forrest, Todd Griffith, Greg Griffin and Larry Curvin.
Rev. Curvin taught his children the importance of hard work and dedication. He retired from M & H Valve in 1982 after 31 years of service. He was a devoted servant for the Lord and lived his life to honor Him. He walked as closely in God's footsteps as an earthly man could. He began his journey in ministry when God called in 1965. Rev. Curvin was pastor of Antioch Baptist Church of Oxford, First Baptist of Duke, West Park Heights Baptist, Blue Eye Baptist and was Interim Pastor at many churches in Calhoun and Talladega Counties. After retirement from the ministry, he and Mrs. Curvin joined Leatherwood Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to a favorite ministry.
