

West Blocton - Funeral services for Mr. Travis Andrew Tucker, 68, of West Blocton, Al will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Anniston, Al with Rev. Jimmy Weed of New Hebron Baptist Church, West Blocton, Al officiating with burial following at Middleton Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Ohatchee, Al.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his brother, Vester L. (Jean) Tucker; nieces, Kristie Nance, and Carol Shreve; nephew, Gerald Tucker; two great-nieces; five great-nephews. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents, Willett and Sammie Tucker; sister, Joyce Stewart.
Mr. Tucker was born and raised in Ohatchee, Al and was a graduate of Ohatchee High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in August 1965, and served with distinction as a combat medic with the 4th Infantry Division for two years during the Vietnam War. Travis was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army at the rank of Sergeant in 1967. Upon discharge from the Army, Mr. Tucker earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University. Mr. Tucker retired from Jim Walter Corporation, where he worked as an electrical engineer. He was an active member at New Hebron Baptist Church.
