Walter Jeff Ward, age 94, of Anniston, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Regional Medical Center. A celebration of life service will take place at Oxford Church of Christ on Friday, April 25th at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be 2 hours before the service from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm. and graveside service immediately following the funeral at Chosea Springs Community Cemetery.
Mr. Ward was born on October 4th, 1930. He was a graduate of White Plains High School and a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He worked at Anniston Electric Co. for 35 years and became the Transportation Supervisor for the Calhoun County School System until he retired. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Oxford Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Bernice A. Ward Sr., mother, Cora W. Ward, Brothers Bernice A Ward Jr., Bobby E. Ward, Billy C. Ward, sister Linda G. Ward, his first wife, Norma Dean Ward, and son Walter Steven Ward.
Family members include his wife Rita Templeton Parker Ward, his son Michael J. Ward (Debbie), Grandchildren; Brandy Askew (Paul), Michelle Morrow (Brandon),Great Grandchildren; Xander Muller, Logan Morrow, and Landon Morrow, step-children; Denita (Thomas) Smith of Anniston, Trina (Jimmy) Gee of Tanzania, East Africa, and Denny (Samantha) Parker of Ohatchee, along with 18 step-grandchildren, and 17 step-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Barry Ward, Bradley Ward, Rock Ward, Don Strother, Denny Parker and Dennis Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers will Wendell Ward,Charles Templeton, and the entire John Gaines Bible Class.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the 9th floor nursing staff, and a special thanks to Monica, Bre, Lorrie, and Caleb from the Critical Care Team along with the doctors, along with a special thanks to Dr. Vance Moore for taking care of Mr. Ward for so long.
