Willard M Dawson

Funeral service for Willard M. Dawson, 86, will be 1 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2015, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Silies, the Rev. Tommy Reaves and the Rev. Garry Ragsdale. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Askew (Bill); son, Terry Dawson (Marie); sisters, Gladys Lockridge and Virginia Kirby; grandchildren, Jason Askew (Casey), Timothy Dawson (Ashley), Sabrina Glenn (Tommy), Frederick Willis (Margaret Ann Forrest) and Laura Lassiter (Tim) and 9 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Dawson is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Dottie Dawson; parents, Lottie and Samuel Cobb Dawson; brother, Walter Dawson and sisters, Conie Matthew, Flora Mae Superneau and Amber Dawson.

Pallbearers will be, Leroy Matthew, Donnie Matthew, Dennis Matthew, Bob Heathcock, Jason Askew and Timothy Dawson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Walter Lockridge, Larry Dawson, Paul Dawson and Wayne Kirby.

Mr. Dawson was born August 10, 1929 in Anniston. He retired from National Gypsum after 38 years of service. He was a member of West Weaver Baptist Church and served 4 years in the U.S. Navy.
