Funeral service for Willie Grace “Dannie” Shepard, 93, of Anniston, will be 2 pm today at Gray Brown-Service with Pastor David Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 1-2 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Shepard passed away on Sunday at her residence.
Survivors include four daughters; Peggy Newton (Johnny), Jo Ann Bono, Judy Shepard Taylor and Kathy Turley (Jackie), two sons; Jim Shepard (Betty) and Mike Shepard (Linda), several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Shepard is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Shepard and son, Gerald Shepard.
Pallbearers will be David Roberts, Jason Bono, Josh Holcomb, Darron Woods, Caleb Dulaney and Will Carpenter.
Mrs. Shepard was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford and a member of the VFW. She retired as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Anniston. Mrs. Shepard was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
