He is preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Debra Campbell; parents, Orville and Jacqueline Campbell; and his beloved companion, Cash, who he has now met at the Rainbow Bridge.
Dan is survived by his children, Tahsha (Jon) Lundberg, Elisha (Jeff Herschbach) Campbell, Jesse Campbell; grandchildren, Chelsie (Brian), Devin, Trevor, Christian (Bobbie), Morgan (Tyler), Alexia, Isabel, Mackira, Andrew, Nathaniel, Aidan, Amara and Caleb; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Debra (Myron) Gargano, Cheryl (Terry) Price, Rick (Colleen) Emerson; and further survived by other relatives and friends.
Dan was an avid hunter and enjoyed his time in the woods. In the mountains of Colorado he spent time hunting elk and riding his motorcycle with his parents. His passions were playing darts, bowling, wearing camo and flannel, camping, ice fishing, any outdoor activities, and spending time with family. When he had nothing else to do, his TV was always on an Old Western movie. He always had a Pepsi or Coffee with him and was well known for it. One fond memory is when he shot an arrow down the center of an arrow in a bullseye! He still has that Robinhood arrow to this day. His stories will be replayed often in our memories, just as he would tell them, repeatedly, in person.
Dan was a jack of all trades and could do anything with his own hands. He knew how to fix so many things and was always the one to call when family needed help. He was a CNC Machinist and hung drywall for many years before retiring in Colorado.
Dan was a top player in his dart tournaments and leagues across Minnesota. He loved the dart community, where he was better known as "Cowboy", because he always wore his cowboy boots. If you were on his team but weren't up to par, he would say, "my back is killing me from carrying you!" He was a great teacher and shared what he knew and gave even better life advice to make you feel better. He always made people smile and laugh with his genuine character. We will always remember his Halloween Chili, Witch's Brew, and famous spaghetti. His smile, free spirit, and heartfelt hugs will always be missed.
"Bye, love ya, see ya."
