My mother, Frances Harper Carney, and ‘Aunt’ Frances J Harper were sister-in-laws. So these were my earliest memories…of how they both could talk (and smoke) and that Philly accent. Of course at the time I assumed that was a normal accent. Anyway, they are both now likely sitting at the heavenly table, swapping stories and making each other laugh till they cried tears of fun, joy and happiness. We miss them.

Thank you, Barb, for your call about your Mom.  We are so sorry to lose her and sorry we missed your call!  Living across the hall so many years was a joy and, after we moved, our friendship continued with some great visits and phone conversations.   We also loved her cats, Thelma and Louise, who were her good buddies.  They would let us care for them when your Mom was gone.  

Ken and I want to send our love, along with peace and healing, to you and your entire family.  Sorry we are unable to attend the Celebration of Life!



My sincerest condolences to your family. 

I have known Fran for years but have not seen her in quite some time. I was a receptionist at Ron's Barbers and Stylist, where she went for years. I was also a hair stylist at Salon 10 where she also went for years. I did get the pleasure of being her backup stylist for many of those years. She was always a blast to have both in the reception area and as a guest in my chair. Her stories were the best and she had a great personality.  She will be remembered far and wide as a one of a kind gal and a pleasure to have know. She certainly made my day whenever I saw her. My prayers are with you all!

Beth Harper became my close friend while growing up and Harpers were my neighbors. I spent a good amount of time in their home in Burnsville and Otsego.  I have so many memories I can't begin to put them into a paragraph.  Mrs. Harper was good to me and my parents.  She showed compassion, kindness and understanding. I had a chance to go visit her a couple times in the past couple years.  Our conversations were touching, and I won't ever forget them.  
I am grateful to the Harper family and to have known Mrs. Harper. 

My name is Peg. I lived across the hall from Fran and she was one of the bright spots in my life since moving in across from her. Whenever I would go over to her place I was always reminded to "Not touch the cats". They only loved her and you don't want to get bit. One day about 3 years ago, I was at work when I got a call from Fran telling me that one of her cats had fallen behind the refrigerator and she was worried the cat might get burned or squished. I only worked 2 miles away so I came right home and pulled out her refrigerator.  I looked behind it only to find a bunch of gray cat hair. As I turned around to tell Fran that there was no cat back there, just a bunch of cat hair, I see them both sitting on the center counter. There they both were, all well and fine and looking curious as to what was going on. Fran was so relieved and we both had a really good laugh. I will miss her so much. She always shared her Tasty Cakes with me and I have many more fond memories of this awesome lady. Thank you Lord for letting me have Fran in my life. RIP Fran.
