Born on April 30, 1935, in Granite Township, MN, MaryAnn spent her childhood years near Little Falls and Pierz, building cherished memories with family and friends.
On November 27, 1954, MaryAnn married the love of her life, Herbert Muehlbauer. They put down roots in Anoka in 1957, creating a welcoming home where they raised their children and built a thriving family business, Anoka Quality Cleaners. Proud business owners, MaryAnn and Herb earned the community's trust and admiration through their hard work and dedication, recognized with the honor of Business of the Year in 1994. MaryAnn touched many through her longtime involvement with the Anoka Halloween Festival, especially mentoring young women in the Miss Anoka Pageant. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others left lasting impressions on everyone she met.
Family was the most important part of MaryAnn’s life. She would spend time with all of them whenever she could. Flowers were her other passion, Marigolds were her favorites.
She was preceded in passing by her husband, Herb Muehlbauer; sons, Daniel and Brian Muehlbauer; parents, George and Anna Schommer; sisters, Marlene Cook and Lucille Rudolph; brothers, Melvin, Harlan, Kenneth, and George Jr. Schommer.
MaryAnn is survived by her daughters, Gloria Orth and Lori Muehlbauer; son, LeRoy (KayLynn) Muehlbauer; daughter-in-law, Donna Muehlbauer; sisters, Alice Baniecke, Lorraine Potter, Elaine (Bob) Litke; beloved friend, Wendy Sturm; brothers, Milton Schommer, Vernald Schommer, Norman (Janet) Schommer, Marvin (Doreen) Schommer; grandchildren, Bill (Ally) Orth, Brandi Janssen, Michelle Muehlbauer, Michael Muehlbauer, Mitchell (Jocelyn) Muehlbauer, John Muehlbauer, Joe Muehlbauer (Diana), Mark (April) Siedschlag, Miranda Siedschlag; great-grandchildren, Mia, Dylan, AJ, Addy, Izzy, Ava, Noah, Amora, Jackson, Chance, Finn, and June.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson St, Anoka, MN. Visitation at 10 am, Mass at 11 am, and luncheon to follow. Private inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
