Survived by Husband of 56 years, Joel; Children, Doug, Mike (Jill), Suzie Glinsek (Bob); Grandchildren, Brittni, McHale, Nan; Brother Bob Collins; Sister, Carolyn Check.
Shirley graduated from Bemidji State College. She was president of Anoka Youth Athletic Association for several years and also founded and taught the early childhood program for School District #11. Shirley taught there for over 20 years and in 1979 won the Youth Service Award for dedication to sports and the District 11 youth.
