Barney passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 29, 2026. He was 79 years old. He loved our Lord and Savior,Jesus Christ, and we are comforted in knowing that he is in heaven with our Father.

He was born and raised in Kenton, Ohio, to Byron E. & Betty J. (Hoppe) Resch. In 1973 he moved to Florida - he was a long-time resident of Apopka. Barney dedicated his life to working as a Lineman/Supervisor for the power company. He retired from Progress Energy in 2003, after many years of committed service. Barney had a passion for traveling abroad with his loving wife, Janet, and their long-time friends. Together, they explored the world and created countless cherished memories.

In addition to his love for travel, Barney enjoyed golf and boating, spending many happy hours on the greens and the water. In his later years, he found joy in watching football games with Janet and enjoyed the simple pleasure of reading.

Barney is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Janet K. Resch; sister Brenda and her husband Thurman Wilson; sister Marilyn Resch; son, Jeff Resch, and his wife Julie; his daughter, Jennifer Kay Moch and her fiancé Stephan Waterman; and his beloved grandchildren, Kathryn Shaw (daughter of Jennifer), and Jenna, Jared, and Jada (children of Jeff and Julie).

Barney’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to inspire us all.

The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 2pm - 4pm at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home located at 601 N Park Avenue, Apopka, FL 32712.

Visitation is scheduled at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, located at 601 N Park Ave, Apopka, FL 32712, US, on February 4, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 4, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
