She was born on October 12, 1933 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to the late Joseph and Anne
Holian.
Karolyn loved lists and details, and this led her to become an amazing secretary (known by some as “the best”) who always “dressed to the nines.”
Karolyn did everything with excellence and tried to hold all her children (and husband) to that same standard! She left a legacy of baking dozens of Christmas cookies (regularly stolen from the freezer by her kids… sorry Mom), she loved watching UCONN Men’s basketball, visiting Williamsburg with her Kenny Boy, and buying nothing but the best for her grandchildren.
All those who knew Karolyn would tell you she loved music (especially Eddie Fisher). Even as she got older, you could find her sneaking a little dance in with her grandson, or tapping her toe during the music
concert at The Cove. All of her kids and close friends will tell you, Karolyn loved reading her Bible every morning with her coffee and notebook in hand to start her day. She loved Jesus, her family and UCONN Basketball (but not always in that order).
We thank God for such a beautiful life!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anne Holian; and grandson, Brien Colby.
Karolyn is survived by her loving husband, Ken P. Truran; daughters, Kathy (Leon) Parker, Debbi (Steve) Corrado, Patricia (Gary) Niarchos, and Laurie (Jeff) Jensen; sons Jim (Dawn) Wehry, and Pete (Lisa) Wehry; grandchildren, Matt (Colleen) Parker, Jon (Julie) Parker, Dan (Melinda) Parker, TJ (Kirsten) Parker, Shauna (Jeremy) Von Eschen, Katie (Derick) Kopp, Chris (Becca) Niarchos, Annie (Matt) Reid, Rachel (Josh) Baun, Jeconiah (Megan) Jensen, Isiah Jensen, Brock (Jackie) Wehry, Nicholas Wehry, Spencer Wehry, PJ (Becky Sue) Wehry, and Drew Wehry; and, 30 great grandchildren (Plus one on the way!)
