Johnnie L. Smith

Johnnie L. Smith, a resident of Arcata, CA was born October 21, 1923 in Atoka, OK and passed away April 17, 2011 at Mad River Hospital in Arcata, CA. Johnnie had many hobbies and passions including hunting, fishing, camping and quilting. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends. Johnnie is survived by her daughter Gearldean (Scotty) Smith-Martinson of Nevada; sons Ronald G. (Tami) Smith of Oregon and Glynn E. Smith of Arcata, her grandchildren Dennae Maich of Sacramento, CA, Chryl Campbell of Sydney, Australia, Eric Martinson of Jasper, OR, Daryl Smith of Bullhead City, AZ, Jason Smith of Springfield, OR. She also is survived by her great grandchildren Ryan Maich of Nevada and Kayla, Justin, Lindsay Smith of Arizona. Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband A.O. Smith; her daughter Carolyn; her grandson Jimmy; and her mother Virgie and both her sisters. There will be a visitation for Johnnie Monday April 25, 2011 from 9:00am till 12:00pm. Services will be held at Paul's Chapel Monday April 25, 2011 at 1:00pm. Burial to follow services at Greenwood Cemetery in Arcata, CA. Casket bearers will be Sam McKinney, Roy Shumard, Keith McKinney, Leonard Shumard, O'Rouck Sweeney and Otis Lawrence.
