Judith Joyce Lourenco

(70) died October 5th, 2011 with her loving family by her side in Arcata, CA. She was born April 15, 1941, in Oakland, CA to Vernon and Ann Shilts. She graduated from Holy Names H.S. in 1959. She came to the city of Arcata in search of employment. She worked at St. Mary's Rectory where a co-worker, Natalia, introduced her to her future husband, Tony. Judy and Tony were married on June 28, 1975, in Arcata at St. Mary's Church. She became active in the secular Carmelites in 1990 and professed her solemn vows in 1998. Her family and faith meant everything to her. She is survived by her loving husband, Tony, her two loving sons, Carlos and Anthony, her father Vernon and her close niece and nephew Donna Walsh and Danny Coats and numerous brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. Many, many thanks to her two dearest friends Nita and Katie. She is preceded in death by her mother Ann, sister Barbara, and brother, Vernon. The rosary will be held at Paul's Chapel on Friday, October 7th, 2011 at 7 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church on Monday, October 10th, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Judy had requested that in lieu of flowers that any donation is made to the St. Mary's Church. Care is under the direction of Paul's Chapel, Arcata, CA.
