Mark, Candy, and Family-
Our condolences are extended.  Lou was a great neighbor and friend.  We will be making a donation for a worthy cause.

Candy&Mark, we all knew it was inevitable, but that doesn't make it any easier to lose such a good friend. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years, and it was indeed a pleasure. He had the unique ability to never get angry about anything, a real life lesson I learned from him many times over. His negotiating skills were widely  recognized, and respected throughout the local industry. I am proud to say that I never had a better friend.

I am your Dad's sister Jane's daughter, Laura.  I am sorry to hear about your Dad's death. He was a nice man from the few times we met and I know he was adored by his siblings.  My prayers are with you.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

Candy,Mark,and family, So sorry to hear of your lose. We sure enjoyed living next to you as neighbors in McKinleyville. Even in Klamath I remember Candy getting on the school bus with her cute curls. We had some fun parties with your parents at our house. I ran into Lou a year or so ago. Betty and Lou were wonderful.I remember Lou putting 2 dirt piles, gofer sized, on one of our neighbors yard that was always so beautifully landscaped across from your house.I spent quite a bit of time one summer over at your house with your mom and Tilly.  Your mom and Tilly taught me how to crochet and made my bridesmaid dresses. I wish I had saw the obituary in time, I would have made it to your memorial and gathering. Would have liked to have visited with all of you. I will give you a call today. Take care.

I worked with Lou for many years at Simpson. I learned so much from him. He was a great guy and a true patriot. One of the last of whom I consider the old timers.  May he rest in peace.

Candy, Mark & Family,           I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.   I only had the pleasure of meeting your Dad a couple of times and thought he was larger than life (in a John Wayne kind of way).. mind you I was probably 10 or so.   However, I know my Mom (your Aunt Jane) had such a wonderful visit out to California so many years ago.  She often spoke of how wonderful everyone was and what a memorable time she had.  I think it was probably the best trip of her life.  I wanted to thank you all for that.  I know we've never met but I wanted to let you know that you have relatives who are thinking of you. Sad to hear of Lou's passing. I too worked with Lou at Simpson for many years.  I have fond memories of his humor-"blackberry pickin".  My thoughts are with the family. Loved his salmon recipe.  Still use it today.

I worked with Lou at Simpson in the late 70's.  He always had a clever remark handy and said he loved to take the girls "blackberry picking".  He was a great guy.

To Candy, Clancy, Danny, David and families,
     Today your dad and grandfather will be saluted and honored for love of country and family.  Way to go, Lou !!  Although we can't be there today to support you, we share your grief and send our sympathy, love and friendship.

Ever since I was young, being around Lou was always a pleasure.  Whether hunting, getting wood, or having dinner, he was someone that I looked forward to seeing.  I feel fortunate to have known him.

Lou was a great friend and valued work partner.  I always had the greatest respect for his military background.  What a great guy.  I know he will be missed.
