

Vickie was born on October 20, 1951 in Delta Colorado, her family move to Arcata in 1964 at the age of 12; Vickie attended Stewart Elementary School as well as Arcata High School she graduated from Arcata High in 1970. Vickie married her high school sweetheart James Jones; they were married for 41½ years, Vickie leaves two daughters and their husbands Robin & Keith Timmons of Palo Cedero, CA, Michele & Brian Fodor of McKinleyville, ca. Six grandchildren, Taylor, Paige & Houston Timmons of Palo Cedero Ca, Madison, Conner & Jayden Fodor of McKinleyville CA., father Willard and his wife Loraine Ream of Fortuna, Mother in-law, Cleo Woodworth, Sister Janet Ream & her partner Debbie Smith of Bella Vista, California, Brother Gary & wife April Ream of Idaho. Three sister in-laws, Kate Veneroso of Vancouver Washington, Peggy & Husband Jim Martin of Arcata, Polly & Husband Ken Post of Burns Oregon, Two brother in-laws, Jim Woodworth of Pomona California, Dick Woodworth of Katy Texas. Two nieces Kristine Ream/Hartwell of Crescent City, CA & Melissa Ream of Idaho, three nephews, Garrett Ream/Cummings of Minnesota, Raymond & Brandon Ream of Idaho, Two Aunts Elaine Hunt of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Shirley Bonnell & her husband Myles Bonnell, of Redmond Oregon, and several cousins.
After High School Vickie worked at Bims drive in in Arcata, General Hospital in the convalescent hospital, Mad River Hospital in the ER Office and her last employment was with Northern Redwood Federal Credit Until 1993 when she was forced into early retirement because of the effects of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Vickie suffered for more than 18 years with extreme pain, and could no longer work. For the last 19 days Vickie proved how strong her will was to stay with us but her body could not take any more. At least she is now pain free. She loved her family as they loved her and will be sorely missed.
Services will be held in Arcata at Paul’s Chapels, Tuesday May 31, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., with graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery in Arcata. The family has two requests (1) Please instead of sending flowers make a donation to Hospice, St. Joseph Hospital or your favorite charity. (2) Please come dressed in your most comfortable bright spring colored attire. The family invites everyone to share in a celebration reception in Blue Lake at the Fire Hall.
The Family of Vickie Jones want thank Hospice of Humboldt, all of the staff that works on the 3rd floor at St Joseph’s hospital, for taking such good care of Vickie. To Dr. Connor for caring about her health, you did the best job you could for her. Dr. Fratkin there is no way that the family can thank you enough for your support and guidance during Vickie’s last 19 days, you did promise that she would be comfortable with no pain and that is the way she left us in comfort and no pain. Again big thanks to everyone.
