Leonard N. Garner Jr.

Mr. Leonard Newton Garner, Jr. passed away July 6, 2015 at High Point Regional Memorial Hospital. He was born in Guilford County, the son of the late Leonard Newton Garner, Sr. and Flossie Ellen Marsh Garner.

Mr. Garner was a resident of this area most of his life and attended the High Point School system. Working in the Furniture Industry, he was employed at Myrtle Desk Company for 21 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a United States Navy veteran of WWII and attended Unity Wesleyan Church in Trinity, North Carolina.

Mr. Garner was married for 70 years to the love of his life, the former Audrey Irene Lane.

Mr. Garner is survived by his wife Audrey Lane Garner; daughter, Marsha G. Dobbins and husband Dwight of Trinity, North Carolina; sons, Frio N. Garner and wife Brenda of Burlington, North Carolina, and Larry W. Garner and wife Frances of Trinity, North Carolina. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Emily Dobbins, Eric Dobbins, Lisa Garner, and Teresa Updyke.

Funeral services for Mr. Garner will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Sechrest Chapel at 120 Trindale Road, Archdale, North Carolina. Interment will be at Floral Garden Memorial Park, High Point, North Carolina. A visitation for Mr. Garner will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Sechrest Funeral Service, Archdale, North Carolina.

The family’s request is in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Unity Wesleyan Church, 5289 Hopewell Church Rd., Trinity, North Carolina 27370.
