ARCHDALE – Michael Devon Rogers, age 55, of St. Petersburg, FL, died on July 16, 2023 in Archdale. He was born in Lanark, IL on January 17, 1968 to Roger and Connie (Lindsay) Rogers.
Michael graduated from Lanark High School in 1986, where he met his wife and high school sweetheart, Kristine (Stitzel) Rogers. They wed in 1990, shortly after his graduation from North Central College, and moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1991. In 1995, they welcomed their only child, son Devon Rogers.
Michael was an avid sports fan, adopting the Tampa Bay Rays as his hometown and favorite team from their inception in 1998, watching their first pennant run in 2008 as one of his favorite memories with Devon. He grew up loving and continuing to follow the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Illinois Fighting Illini.
In his time away from work, Michael could often be found on the deck of a cruise ship, watching the sea go by. He enjoyed traveling, watching and attending games of his favorite teams, and spending time at home with Kris and Devon.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kristine Rogers, son, Devon Rogers, parents, Roger and Connie Rogers, brothers Tim (Tammy) Rogers and Cory Rogers, niece Kylie Rogers, and his beloved pets, Smokey and Bandit.
He was preceded in death by many beloved dogs and cats who frequently made guest appearances, writing his popular family Christmas letter, beginning with the first, Buffy, and continuing with Scoobie, Rocco, and Kazzy.
A private service will be held.
