Paul Roberts Guthrie, age 74, died November 5, 2014 following a lengthy illness. As a resident of Trinity since 1970, Paul taught at Trinity High School, served on the Randolph County School Board and the Trinity City Council, as well as the Archdale – Trinity Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he was a Deacon.
Paul is survived by his wife, Irene and one son; Paul II and his fiancé, Lisa Holleman and her two daughters and one grandchild, in addition to his best friend, Patches. His sister, Edith and her husband Wendell Brown and daughter, Kim who reside in Fairfax, Virginia.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Paul Guthrie Scholarship Fund at Trinity High School or the Hospice Home of the Piedmont.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Sechrest Funeral Service, 120 Trindale Road in Archdale. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00p.m.at Sechrest Funeral Service.
