High Point – Sam was born on May 11, 1948. He passed away on December 23, 2025, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lucille Collins, his brother, Desi Collins, and sisters, Debbie Dillard and Denise Ball.
He leaves a son, Jamey Gillespie (Nicole) and 2 grandsons (Waylon and Wyatt). Also left to cherish his memory are his brother and sisters: Danny Collins, Delinda Johnson (Freddy), and Delana Missroon (Mark), along with many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude for the loving care provided by the ICU unit at High Point Hospital.
