He was born in Burlington, North Carolina on October 22, 1940 to the late James Morris Boone and Daisy Culbertson Boone. He was a resident of the Piedmont Triad all of his life.
He enlisted in the United States Army and served two years of duty in Vietnam. He worked for more than forty years in home construction and real estate.
Mr. Boone is survived by his companion and care provider of more than forty- three years, Linda Turner; two daughters, Jenni Cole and Traci Pless; a sister, Kathryn Boone; two brothers, Michael Boone and wife Debbie, Donald Boone and wife Karen. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 6 until 8 pm at Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144
