Wayne was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, March 13, 1938, a son of the late Theodore and Verna Gurney Flint. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1961 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970, both from Kent State. Wayne also studied at Cleveland State University. He was a research chemist with Goodyear Tire for several years before he began his teaching career, first at Streetsborough High School in Ohio and then at the Browning Middle School in Montana. Wayne was of the Lutheran faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Flint, and four siblings, Geraldine McPherson, Deloris Lesic, Eugene Flint and Lois Johnson.
Surviving are his daughter, Tonya Adams and her husband James; his son, Justin Flint; five grandchildren, Christopher Adams, Charles Adams, Kevin Adams and his wife Kathryn, Julianna Luchau and her husband Mark and Megan Adams and her husband Alex Barnes; four great-grandchildren, Ezra Adams, Spencer Adams, Charlotte Luchau and Clara Luchau.
A Celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 310 S. Tremont St., Greensboro by the Rev. Robert Dovennulehe. Burial will follow at Guil-Rand cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Ebenezer Lutheran church.
