Alberto Adolfo Silva

Alberto A. Silva, 65, joined our heavenly father on his birthday Saturday, January 23rd, 2021. He was born to Alberto and Yola Silva in La Paz, Bolivia in 1956. Alberto grew up in Miraflores on a block full of families with kids that became long time best friends. He was a proud student at San Calixto for twelve years and then awarded a scholarship to study at the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro. Alberto valued family and education highly. After receiving his mechanical engineering degree he joined his parents and 3 brothers in Chicago, IL. He studied English and acquired his Masters of Science at IIT. In 1981 he met his “amorcito” Gilda Perez, married her on June 30th, 1985, and raised three daughters together.

Alberto gave everything his all and everyone his heart. His dedicated work ethic made him a successful leader and the President of Apollo Plastics Inc. Apollo was his second family where he was known as Al and he connected with every employee, supplier, and customer. Al traveled around the world not only to negotiate deals but make life long friendships. He worked hard and played harder.

Along with traveling, he enjoyed dancing, soccer, singing, capturing life in photos and videos, and most of all spending time with his friends and family.

Alberto is survived by his wife and daughters Tania (Craig), Karla (Lucas) and Jessie (Evan), and grandchildren Lucas, Reina, and Olivia. He also survived by his parents Alberto and Yola, and his siblings Jorge (Yolanda), Miguel (Gume), John, and many friends.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Face masks are required, social distancing and capacity limits of 25 are in effect. Guests should prepare to wait outside for entry. A 10:00 am Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Mary Parish, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Entombment is at All Saints Mausoleum.
