Alfred "Fred" Lorenz BrandstatterOf Arlington HeightsFred Brandstatter, formerly of Chicago, was born on May 10, 1926 to Lorenz and Theresia (nee Heinerer) Brandstatter. He was a resident of Luther Village Retirement Community for the last 20 years and died April 3, 2015 in Arlington Heights.Fred was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked for Plibrico Company for 49 years as Market Manager of the Boiler and Incineration Refractory Divisions. Fred was an avid golfer for 40+ years, playing courses throughout the U.S. and other countries. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and his "easy going nature" and sense of humor endeared him to all.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy (nee Hermle); children, Glenn (Dorene) Brandstatter and Carol (Lou) Magurno; grandchildren, Tracy (Erich) Sourwine, David (Jamie) Magurno, Tina (Mike) Confair, Erica (Sean) Duffy, Ava Brandstatter and Cpl. Joseph Brandstatter USMC; great-grandfather of eight; brother, John Brandstatter; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.Visitation Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd.,1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Prayers 10:15 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at the funeral home proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 for a 11:00 am Funeral Mass.
