

Alwin “Al” G. Preusker Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021. He was born January 5, 1941, in Chicago, IL to the late Alwin G. and Rosina (nee Karls) Preusker and preceded in death by brother, Dennis J. Preusker Sr. Al is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cathie (Noll) Preusker and his children Todd, Sarah, Colette (Paul) Donnelly and Heather (Matthew) McHugh; by his grandchildren Celeste, Daphne, Eamon (Donnelly), Erin and Katie (McHugh); and his brother, Michael F. Preusker. Al raised his kids in Buffalo Grove and was instrumental in transforming Buffalo Grove days into the event it is today. He met his wife while working at Jewel Food Stores in Winnetka, IL. He became manager and worked at many “Jewels” making friends along the way. After retiring from Jewel, Al owned a White Hen Pantry for many years in Buffalo Grove where he met many friends near and far. Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus and spent most of his life as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America or at his Church, acting at Eucharistic Minister and lector, to name of few. All services for Al will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm until a Life Celebration Mass at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 S. Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in honor of Al to Boy Scouts of America or Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church.
