My deepest condolences to her family. She was a remarkable and sophisticated lady who I admired since 1989. She had this uniqueness charming way of teaching which I use almost daily thanks to her. I wished she published a cookbook with all her amazing recipes. She will be missed for sure!!!

Ann Slattery was a once in a lifetime teacher.
A pioneer in the education field, a counselor, and a warm and friendly person whom was loved and respected by us students.
I am saddened as I just today learned of her passing.

Bill and family, So sorry to hear this sad news about a great woman. While at Hersey HS and with my limited interaction with Ann, she was always professional, personable and fun to engage in conversation. As a somewhat regular at the Husky Inn in the early 70's, I was able to observe first hand the lessons, ideas, skills and talents she and her co-teachers provided to hundreds of students to help them as they graduated and started their lives as adults. She was a wonderful lady, always with a smile and a person who I was lucky to know.
May Ann rest in peace with our Lord.

Ann was a beloved educator at Hersey. I have worked with Ann and was one of Ann's students. Through her teaching and what she has done for the students, she made her students better people. Ann cared so much for her students.

Ann belongs in the class of other faculty legends at Hersey. I don't think she had one day where she came to work- instead, she came every day to teach, to mentor, to minister to a need, to dispense wise counsel, to innovate opportunities for kids to find their niche. She was internally guided by thinking through what was best for kids and then doing it. As a young teacher during her tenure, she and others like her, set the tone for how I would see my purpose and how I would interact with students and staff in what became known as the "Hersey family." She was one of it's mothers and sisters. Though many years have passed, Hersey still carries a unique sense of family, a testimony to the strength of that group of faculty Ann was among to create a mood, a vision, a way of being that is still in operation today. I have carried a piece of advice she gave me as a twenty something, when we were talking in the hallway outside the cafeteria and I was struggling with some decisions. And she said, "we make the best decisions we can with the information we have at the time." To this day, her words resonate with me, and I have passed that little piece of wisdom onto others.
My heart goes out to those who love and know her best, and will have to carry the load of grief the rest of their lives in her absence.
