Anna Russo

Anna Russo was born on May 26, 1933 in Mola di Bari, Italy to Carlo and Loreta (nee Circolone) Pesce. She passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

Anna was a homemaker who will be remembered as a loving and patient wife and mother, beloved nonna and great cook who enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling to Italy and Florida. Her 7 siblings were very dear to her. She especially loved the big family Christmas Eve celebrations and being part of her St. Anthony Rosary Group. She was a member of the Sisters of Maria S.S. Addolorata.

Anna is survived by her spouse of 58 years, Steve; children Antoinette (Richard) Simek, Joseph Russo, and Lori (Christopher) Martin; grandchildren Natalie Simek, Mark Simek, Brittany (Alex) Wood, Ashley Russo, Robert Martin, and Nicoletta Martin; great grandchildren Charlie Wood, and Tessa Wood; siblings Ninuccia (Giulio) Serino, Cecchina (the late Vito) Calefato, Maria (Giuseppe) Susca, Stefano (Chiara) Pesce, Emilio (Maria) Pesce, Dina (Nicola) Deluso, and Domenico (Giovanna) Pesce; sisters-in-law, Ninetta (the late Jimmy) Pietanza, Giovanna (the late Joe) DiDonna, and Pasqua (Giovanni) Ratti; the late brother-in-law Domenico Russo; godchildren Rosemary (Sam) Chiovari, Dominick (Abigail) Deluso, and Loredana (Giancarlo) Scarcia; and 21 Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights, and at St. Zachary Catholic Church, 567 W. Algonquin, Des Plaines, 9:30 am until time of Mass, 10:30 am, Saturday, June 23, 2018 Entombment at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
