Astrid Lynne Hasley

Astrid Lynne Hasley, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 18th, 2026 in Buffalo Grove, Illinois at Belmont Village Senior Living. She was born on October 7th, 1941 in Belle Plaine, Iowa to Verner and Eleanor Thuesen.

She was a Histologic Technician at Northwest Community Hospital as well as at other hospitals. She also worked in the offices at the Village of Buffalo Grove, Ducks Unlimited and Palwaukee/Chicago Executive Airport where she had the opportunity to pilot the Goodyear blimp.

After retiring from the airport, she spent most of her free time painting, travelling, attending grandchildren’s events, and volunteering at Kingswood Church in Buffalo Grove. She also enjoyed photography, birds, archery and horseback riding in her early years.

Astrid was best known for her sense of humor and adventure, as well as her beautiful oil paintings.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Penny (Mark) Destache, Brian (Siana) Hasley, Derek (Michelle) Hasley, and Darin (Beth) Hasley, her grandchildren: Joelle (Zach) Lindholm, Mike (Amanda) Destache, Samantha White, Alexandra Davis, Isaac Hasley, Amber Hasley, Nathan Hasley, Emmett Hasley, Sarah Hasley, Ben Hasley, and Leah Hasley, and her sister Ellen (Bob) Kimball.

Visitation will be Friday, February 27th, from 4pm to 8pm at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.

Memorial service will be Saturday, February 28th at 11am at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 401 Dundee Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089.

Interment to follow at Knopf Cemetery in Buffalo Grove.
