Barbara Josephine McGrath

Barbara J. McGrath, 89, was born on June 22, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Lawrence and Violet (nee Dyrek) Coffey. She died Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Lutheran Home and Services, in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Mrs. McGrath was the co-owner of Suburban Press with her husband, Michael and worked as a travel agent. She was a long-time resident of the Greenbrier Subdivision and member of St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church. In her pastime Barb enjoyed traveling, and also her nightly Facebook and internet games with her nieces, sisters-in-law, friends and relatives.

Barbara is survived by her sons Gary, Jack, and Kevin (Kathy) McGrath, her daughter, Annie McGrath; her grandchildren Brennan, Matthew, Samantha, Megan, Kelly, Tom, and Melissa McGrath, Colin and Ireland Adler; her great grandchildren Campbell and Collins McGrath, Emily Deming, mother of her great grandchildren; her nieces Maureen (Dick) Gannon, Elizabeth (Nick Bizony) McGrath, Pat (Jim Harris) Wehrs, Nancy (Mark) Simpson, Rick (Ana) McGrath; and her sister-in-law Adeline (Lawrence) Coffey.

She is preceded in death by her husband Michael McGrath; her son Michael McGrath; her parents; her grandson, Bobby Morrison; and her brothers Dennis (Patricia) and Lawrence Coffey; her sister-in-law Anna Mae Cefalu (Bill); her brothers-in-law Joseph and James McGrath; her niece, Lynn Coffey, and her nephew, Tyrone Cefalu.
