Barbara Hartman Moore

Barbara Hartman Moore was born in March of 1926 in Prairie Green, IL., the fifth of eight children born to the late Harold and Maude (nee Rush) Hartman of Milford, IL and passed away peacefully July 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and friends. In October of 1980 she married the love of her life, Bernard “Bernie” Moore who preceded her in death. Barbara had a long career as a nurse on the staff of a number of doctor’s offices in and around Arlington Heights. After her retirement, she continued her affiliation with medicine as a volunteer at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Barbara was a life member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved baking cookies, gardening and entertaining friends and family. She also loved traveling, which she did extensively with Bernie. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Bernard J. Moore MD; loving mother of Larry (Linda) Swartz, Sharon (Tim) Halas and Susan (Bruce) Tenuta; cherished grandmother of ten; great-grandmother of 10 and also survived by five stepchildren, Judie (Rich) Greene, Ed (Theresa) Moore, Tom Moore, Mary LoCosto, Jim (Ron Gubin) Moore and seven step grandchildren; dear sister of Nancy Crist and the late Esther Hamilton, Samuel Hartman, Donald Hartman, Robert Hartman and Richard Hartman. Memorial visitation will be Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 1:00 PM until time of Memorial Service 4:00 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631 appreciated.
