Barry S. Ramey

Barry S. Ramey was born on October 20, 1952 in Chicago to Richard and Ethel (nee Mesley) Ramey. He died Sunday, December 9, 2018 in Highland Park.

Mr. Ramey’s profession as an industrial engineer spanned numerous corporations with Rexam and Constar being the highlights of his career. Rexam provided him with flexibility to work close to home affording him the opportunity to be there for his daughters when needed. Constar gave him the chance to travel and see the world while maintaining the career he was passionate about. He loved to travel and check out new restaurants and explore different types of cuisines. In his free time he liked to play golf and shoot hoops with some of his neighborhood friends. At home, Barry loved to kick back with a glass of red wine and listen to his smooth jazz and Motown classics. He also enjoyed watching The Blacklist, The Food Network, History Channel, HGTV, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory and his favorite sports teams. He was very active and loved moving about, going on drives in his car, and being in the backyard grilling out. Barry loved technology and putting together different types of electronics around the home. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his daughters, and was loved by all.

Barry is survived by his spouse of 41 years, Dawn (nee Parrish); daughters, Tiffany Ramey and Ashley Ramey; grand-dogs, Bentley and Chloe Ramey; sister, Karen (Donald) Wright, half-sister, Adele Walker; mother-in-law, Barbara Parrish; brother-In-Law, Dr. Charles Parrish; sister-in-law, Barbara Love; and nieces and nephews;

He was preceded in death by his parents; and half-brother, Edwin Adams.

Services and interment were private.
