Of Chicago
Bruce Anderson III was born November 13, 1944 in Chicago to Bruce Jr. and Mary Margaret Marcelle (nee Poirier) Anderson. He died February 23, 2021 at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.
Bruce was an accomplished hair stylist and small business owner, and yet he always had side project to keep himself busy. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran who rarely ever talked about his experience, but his service gave him immense pride. He was a lifelong Republican (or RINO as he put it) who loved the fine arts and listened to NPR. He loved watching tv and going to the movies, but his one true passion was reading. He also loved golf and his labs, Beauregard and Patton. He had a voluminous cd collection and an eclectic taste in music, ranging from the essentials such as Miles Davis to the more obscure Butterfield Blues Band. Later in life, he took up bladesmithing as a hobby. A self-professed Luddite, Bruce preferred to shy away from the trappings of modern technology.
Bruce is survived his wife Deborah (nee Ryan); Bruce M. (Meaghan) Anderson; his grandsons Aidan and Ryan and by his siblings Suzanne Vaughn, Patrick Anderson, Michel Anderson and Marie Anderson.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
