Caryn Ellen Sweeney

Caryn Ellen Sweeney, 62, was born on May 19, 1961, in Chicago, IL to Nathan and Rita (nee Sandler) Yorke. She died Sunday, December 24, 2023, at her home.

Ms. Sweeney was employed with Portillos in Glendale Heights where she enjoyed working amongst friends. Caryn cherished her role as a mother and later as a doting grandmother to her granddaughters, Addison La Vine and Mackenzie La Vine.

In her free time, Caryn enjoyed shopping, being outside in the sunshine, watching reality TV, and spending time with family. She loved being around dogs, but especially her Shih Tzu Gizmo.

Caryn is survived by her daughters Samantha (Mark) La Vine, and Kalee (Matt) McKenna; her granddaughters Addison and Mackenzie; her former husband and friend, Tom; and her sisters Sharon Lancz and Adrian Blumberg.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of her memorial service at 1:00 pm at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
