Born in Poland, Casey immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 in search of opportunity and a brighter future. With determination, resilience, and a tireless work ethic, he built a life in Chicago before moving his family to Mount Prospect in 1979. That move was more than just a change of address—it was a chance for him to give his children the very best foundation for their futures.
Casey was a proud and dedicated member of IBEW Local 134, where he worked as an electrician for over 40 years. He approached his trade with skill and integrity, earning the respect of his colleagues and providing for his family with unwavering devotion. Even in retirement, Casey never truly put down his tools—he was always eager to help family and friends with home improvement projects, embodying his belief in hard work, generosity, and service to others.
Family was at the center of everything Casey did. He shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved wife, Danuta, who stood by him in love and partnership for more than six decades. He was a proud father to Elizabeth and Mark, and nothing brought him more joy than being “DzaDza” to his grandchildren—Alexander, Nicolette, and Casey. Their laughter, achievements, and presence filled his heart with pride and happiness.
Casey had a gift for bringing people together. With his quick wit and humor, he could light up any room and was always the life of the party. Yet, when the situation grew serious, Casey was the first to step up—ready to lead, protect, and take charge. He carried himself with a rare balance of joy and strength that touched everyone around him.
Outside of work and family, Casey found peace and joy in the outdoors. He was happiest with a fishing rod in hand, sharing stories and companionship with his friends on the water. An avid cyclist, he enjoyed the freedom of riding and the simple pleasures of nature. He carried with him a deep appreciation for life’s quiet moments and the beauty of the world around him.
Casey’s life was a testament to perseverance, selflessness, and love. He will be remembered not only for his warmth and devotion to family, but also for his signature farewell, “All the Best,” a phrase he used to wish well to everyone he met. His kindness, humor, and example will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Casey is survived by his loving wife Danuta; loving father to Elizabeth (John) Mizerik and Mark Zyskowski. Adoring grandpa to Alexander Mizerik, Nicolette Mizerik and Casey Zyskowski. Brother-in-law to Watler (the late Zina) Wojciechowski and Les (Helen) Borawski. Uncle to the late Adam, Eva (Steve), the late Susan, Michael (Kate), Jessica and their children.
“A life well lived is never truly gone. Casey’s love and spirit remain with us always.”
