Charles D Blegen

Charles D Blegen; 98 of Streamwood was born June 20, 1927, in Chicago to the late Roger and Ethel Blegen and passed away December 2, 2025. Charlie was the beloved husband of Synnove Blegen (Andersen); beloved brother of late Ethel and Dorothy; loving father of Niles, Linda, Kathryn, and Christina; cherished grandfather of Nils, Gretchen, Melissa, Dena, Anthony, Gina, and Lee ; great-grandfather of , Grace, Jackson, Thatcher, Ruby, Sadie, Joey, Chole, Iris , Stella, and Fjord; and fond uncle of the late Judy & Roddy; Danny, Tommy, Dorothy Mae, and Susie. Admired father-in-law of Juan (Kathryn), Joe (Christina), and Tony (Linda).

Charlie proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII and was an active member in the American Legion. He was adamant about supporting the Indigenous American Indian population.

Visitation and celebration of his wonderful life will be December 10th at Noon, followed by a brief service at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL. 60004. Interment will be for both Charlie and Synnove together sometime this coming summer after their headstones have arrived. This will be a military funeral honoring his lifelong devotion and service to his country At Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
